The Debian Policy Manual is \navailable at:\n\n http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/#contents\n\nThe Debian Policy Manual is also available in the Debian package\n\u0022debian-policy\u0022. When this package is installed, the policy manual can be\nfound in directory /usr/share/doc/debian-policy. If you have a browser\ninstalled you can probably read it at\n\n file://localhost/usr/share/doc/debian-policy/\n\nSome more detailed information can also be found in the files in the\n/usr/share/doc/sysv-rc directory.\n\nDebian Policy dictates that /etc/init.d/*.sh scripts must work properly\nwhen sourced. The following additional rules apply:\n\n* /etc/init.d/*.sh scripts must not rely for their correct functioning\n on their being sourced rather than executed. That is, they must work\n properly when executed too. They must include \u0022#!/bin/sh\u0022 at the top.\n This is useful when running scripts in parallel.\n\n* /etc/init.d/*.sh scripts must conform to the rules for sh scripts as\n spelled out in the Debian policy section entitled \u0022Scripts\u0022 (ยง10.4).\n\nUse the update-rc.d command to create symbolic links in the /etc/rc?.d\nas appropriate. See that man page for more details.\n\nAll init.d scripts are expected to have a LSB style header documenting\ndependencies and default runlevel settings. The header look like this\n(not all fields are required):\n\n### BEGIN INIT INFO\n# Provides: skeleton\n# Required-Start: $remote_fs $syslog\n# Required-Stop: $remote_fs $syslog\n# Should-Start: $portmap\n# Should-Stop: $portmap\n# X-Start-Before: nis\n# X-Stop-After: nis\n# Default-Start: 2 3 4 5\n# Default-Stop: 0 1 6\n# X-Interactive: true\n# Short-Description: Example initscript\n# Description: This file should be used to construct scripts to be\n# placed in /etc/init.d.\n### END INIT INFO\n\nMore information on the format is available from insserv(8). This\ninformation is used to dynamicaly assign sequence numbers to the\nboot scripts and to run the scripts in parallel during the boot.\nSee also /usr/share/doc/insserv/README.Debian.\n","s":{"c":1762216218,"u": 9441}}
